Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit: “Picnic Parade”

Hello

Welcome to my corner! I hope you’re staying safe healthy and wearing those masks! Yes I’m one of those, but after battling the virus myself for 2 weeks and with my husband for 6 weeks, I tell you do everything you can not get this thing. It was not serious for me but my husband had to be hospitalize and kept out of work for 6 weeks, so yes washing hand, cleaning and wearing mask if my motto!

So I’m here today to share the cards I’ve made using the new August Simons Says Stamp Card kit and if you like cute and colorful papers and stickers this is the kit for you. I will admit I struggle with cute and colorful because it not I tend to gravitate towards but Doodle Bug designs is all over this kit and they are pretty cute.

For my first card I’ve created a background using the small stamp set in the kit. This is a great way to use up all those small stamps I struggle creating with and just have fun placing them and creating my own background. The sentiment is from the second stamp set also included in the kit, yes this kit has two stamp sets!

Card number two is my way of showing that simplicity can be beautiful. I just stamped the rays of sunshine, added a sentiment and a cute sticker and you have a bright and cheery card for a loved one! Literally took me minutes to do!

Right on next I wanted to use up some of the stickers in the kit by Doodlebug Design and nothing like a grouping of cuties to welcome the summer! I just cut the square with a small square die, placed a piece of pattern paper (also in the kit) for a background and to add texture I stamped the dots and a solid strip for the sentiment. The rest is a matter of putting stickers that I thought went well together.

Next is another simple but cute card where I was trying to show that card making doesn’t have to be hard. When I do these kits I do my best to just use the materials in it along with a few basic tools. Here I just used ink and the “Hello Sunshine stamp set in the kit.

Card five is another diy background pattern but this time using a different color scheme and cardstock. Kraft stock in my opinion is a must have and it just makes everything better and vibrant. I heat embossed in white and used my Nuvo Aqua Flow Brush markers to quickly color the images. Since I already did red of course I had to do blue to celebrate summer.

I hope you enjoy these cards and get inspired! You can head over to my Instagram where I usually have more cards I created using this kit. As of today this kit is still available and I have provided many of the links at the end in case you’re interested.

Thanks and stay creative, safe, healthy, and many blessings!
