Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit and I hope you’re staying safe and taking care of yourself and your loved ones. We are in this together and need to keep our spirits up.
So I’m here today with the April’s Simon Says Stamp Card kit and is called “Follow the Rainbows” which is very fitting with everything that is going on in the world today.
This kit is still available and is a great to way to support small business in the crafting industry if you’re able. Well lets beginning and hopefully you’ll find some inspiration and ideas.
Card 1 – The kit includes a few prints from the talented Suzy Plantamura ready for coloring with your favorite medium. For this card I used Copic markers to color and with a white gel pen I added some lines and dots for some basic doodleling. It’s a little hard to see in the picture but I used glossy accents to add some dimension to the hearts and drops and some shimmer to the clouds with a shimmer pen.
Card 2 – The stamp set in this kit, “Follow the Rainbows” is very cute and I just love the details of the rain. I stamped the image on 140 pound water color paper and white heat embossed it. I find I can control the water coloring when the lines are heat embossed. The background was created by combining blue shades with a touch of gray for a cloudy day.
Card 3 – The next card was all about keeping things simple but still make a statement. I stamped the image in black on kraft card stock and just colored the umbrella in red with matching shoes. To keep the red theme I just used a red card stock base and this card came together quickly and effortlessly.
Card 4 – This is one of my favorite card i created with this kit. I just wanted bubbles and I thought this was a great way to use a pretty piece of scrap pattern paper leftover from the kit. I stamped and fussy cut the girl and then colored with Copic markers in a neutral tone with gray and blue so the rainbow circles will stand out. I debated cutting the girls legs but decided to do it since I really wanted the bubbles to surround her at the top.
Card 5 – I really love papers and when I see a pretty piece I try my best to use all of it. Like the card above (rainbow bubbles) I try to look for simple ways to add interest and use what I have at hand. In this card I just cut the paper is strips, added a simple sentiment and is all done! Hard to see in the picture but I use the cloud stencil in the kit and very lightly added clouds in the background.
I’ve been having a good time with this kit and I have some more cards to show you, so please subscribe so you can get notifications for my next post featuring this colorful kit.
Again I want to thank you for stopping by and all my love and prayers to the world. That all this is over soon and we can all return stronger and more united because this virus is showing us that it’s about humanity not about race, religion, politics or social class.
Take care,
Connie Morales
