Hello and thank you for stopping by!

So excited about the new Simon Says Stamp kit for August 2018 that I had to write a blog post!  I’m still working on all my stashed kits so I will return with the cards I’ve created, just a little out-of-order :). Last week I was fortunate to received the August kit by Simon Says Stamp ahead of its release and I’ve been playing and creating some cards.

I must say when I first got it I was nervous because I don’t have a lot of practice or experience with coloring.  I’m more of a paper and cut outs kind of girl and this kit has a beautiful stamp set I thought I would just ruin with my lack of coloring expertise, lol.  The thing about crafting is that your suppose to have fun and if things don’t go right just start all over.  Like my daughter says: “It’s just paper, Mom.”

I took some Tim Holtz distress markers and gave it a go with some watercolor paper.  The paper in the kit is lovely so I used it as inspiration in choosing the colors.  I find that if I don’t over think things and let go of control then great things happen when crafting.

To my surprise it was not as hard as I thought it was going to be and the biggest shock was seeing my l”little” card featured on the card kit reveal!!!!! (click here to see the Simon Says reveal video of the kit)  So Happy!!!!! (deep breath, lol)

Well here are the first five cards I created. Links to all the products are at the end of the post but you better hurry these kits sell out quick!

Card 1: All the papers in this card are in the kit and I just added watercolor card stock to stamp all the image and colored with Tim Holtz distressed markers.

Card 2:  This kit includes a pretty 6×6 background stamp that is adorable.  I white heat embossed it on white card stock then decorated with the lovely papers.  The sentiments are from the stamp set “Mandy’s Flowers Shed” and I love the font.

Card 3:  On this next card I wanted to keep it soft and vintage looking.  I aged the edges with distress ink and kept it vintage!

Card 4:  I’m a believer that if you buy a kit that you should be able to create and use every bit of the supplies in it.  For this card I just took some of the strips and arranged them to form by own background giving the stamp image the spotlight.

Card 5:  This card is special! It’s the card that got the attention of Simon Says Stamp and is show cased on their reveal YouTube video!!!  So excited!  The interesting thing is that it was not the one I thought it would get picked and it was the simplest to make.  Used the beautiful paper and again showcased the awesome stamp image!

I hope I’ve encourage you to try some more coloring and create many wonderful cards and more.  Below are the links to the products I used and remember that these kits sell out quick!  You can, however, purchase many of the supplies separately.

Happy crafting and have a great day!

"Behind every great crafter...Is a huge pile of craft supplies" -JoAnn   Cheeky but true! I love craft supplies as much if not more than trashy paranormal romance novels. I felt it was time to get down to business and actually use all these craft supplies and make pretty things. Would I be successful? Who knows! But now one will be able to accuse me of not giving it all I got. Which is the reason I started this blog, to share my crafting adventures (or most likely mistakes) with the Internet.   Sad but hey I don't have much of a social life and my husband isn't very interested in hearing about crafts! He's much more interested on how the Patriots or Red Sox are doing than listening to me talk about stamps, cardstock and die cutting.   Paper crafting as you will see is my first crafting passion but as any decent crafter would tell you is impossible not to dabble on all other kind of crafting experiments, hence the name wondering mindfield. So look around and hopefully I will inspire you to try something new, make some "creative" mistakes and relax while creating something "pretty." Thank you for visiting and come back soon!
