Hello!  Welcome to my corner!  Hope you are having a good day and thank you for visiting.

Today I got part one of the January 2018 Simon Says Card Kit which unfortunately is out of stock. I have, however, provided some links for most of the products in this kit at the end of this post.  1_394159_FS

For my layouts I went a bit geometrical since I really like to use all the papers and cut outs in the kit.  I try to use minimal supplies outside the kit, this helps me challenge my creativity. Normally I do add some of my own card stock for the card bases, clear embossing powder and a few miscellaneous such as, foam tape, embossing ink and a few sequins in order to add variation.

For inspiration I go to Pinterest and to the Simon Says Stamp blog kit gallery as well for inspiration. There are so many amazing card makers that offer a wealth of inspiration.

Here are the first seven cards I created with the January 2018 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit and remember to let me let me know in the comments what you think and if I should have tried something different!

Card 1:  Glued paper in a triangular shape for the paper in the kit and lined with my own black card stock to add interest to the focal point of the card.

Card 2:  Even scraps can add interest to a card.

Card 3: Using stamps to make backgrounds can stretch your supplies and give a more unified look to your card. I also grouped the small cut outs to create a focal point on the card.

Card 4:  A designer paper, a simple sentiment and a interesting angle and you have a quick and fun card.

Card 5: The hearts in this stamp set are so cute and the stitched hearts are my favorite.

Card 6:  Sometimes you just have to let the pretty paper take over!  I also learned to that stickers can be really nice if used correctly.

Card 7:  Never waste your scraps and again grouping small items is a good trick.

I hope you draw some inspiration and remember you don’t need to have this card kit to create some simple and cute cards.  For me is about the layouts, a good paper pack and a small collection of sentiments to create and challenge creativity.

Thanks for visiting and come back soon for the rest of this kit!

Be safe, take care and be kind…this world needs it now more than ever!

"Behind every great crafter...Is a huge pile of craft supplies" -JoAnn   Cheeky but true! I love craft supplies as much if not more than trashy paranormal romance novels. I felt it was time to get down to business and actually use all these craft supplies and make pretty things. Would I be successful? Who knows! But now one will be able to accuse me of not giving it all I got. Which is the reason I started this blog, to share my crafting adventures (or most likely mistakes) with the Internet.   Sad but hey I don't have much of a social life and my husband isn't very interested in hearing about crafts! He's much more interested on how the Patriots or Red Sox are doing than listening to me talk about stamps, cardstock and die cutting.   Paper crafting as you will see is my first crafting passion but as any decent crafter would tell you is impossible not to dabble on all other kind of crafting experiments, hence the name wondering mindfield. So look around and hopefully I will inspire you to try something new, make some "creative" mistakes and relax while creating something "pretty." Thank you for visiting and come back soon!
